Every Thursday Matt Welch, aka Mr.Matt visits to teach the children teambuilding and cooperation skills.   His lessons are fun and interactive.  They LOVE his visits!

The First Few Weeks.

The students have adjusted beautifully to their school day and their learning environment.  We are encouraging independence, respecting engagement and concentration while allowing the children the freedom to move about and choose their lessons.  A big focus during this time is Grace and Courtesy.  These lessons are the heart and soul of the classroom.  The teacher uses these lessons to create a peaceful and cooperative classroom. The children learn the customs of the classroom, behavior that is socially acceptable, respect for self and others, kindness and how to be confident in social situations.  Some examples of these lessons are: how to interrupt, sitting on the line, using an inside voice, rolling a rug, etc. Notice the deep concentration in the children's photos.
